Fortuna celebrates the 33rd edition of the International Folk Festival with groups of high level visitors (14/08/2016)

The festivities in honor of Fortuna San Roque have already started.

One of the most traditional events of the cartel, and also of the most important is the International Folklore Festival "Villa de Fortuna" which is now in its 33rd edition.

The local council, through the Department of Culture and the Cultural Peña L'Albarza Association will be responsible for holding this festival that will take place tonight at Avenida Juan Carlos I of Fortuna at ten o'clock at night.

Participating groups will act for two hours, are the Charcones Cultural Association from Miguel Esteban, Toledo, an international group that visits Fortuna from Senegal, and the Group of Songs and Dances La Purisima de Fortuna.

The events scheduled will begin this morning with Mayor Jose Enrique hosting Gil guests groups in the city of Fortuna, and in the afternoon at 21:00 pm, the wreath at before the opening of the XXXIII International Festival pattern folklore.

Group of Songs and Dances La Purisima of Fortuna Group Songs and Dances "La Purisima" in Fortuna, was born on May 15, 1979 on the occasion of the celebration of the feast of San Isidro Labrador, by a group of young school Adults whose restlessness and taste for traditions and customs prompted them to rescue traditional folklore dances of their people;

incorporated later in the year 1,984, the "Peña L'Albarza" Cultural Association of Fortuna.

Today the Association consists of a hundred members split into two groups of dance (holder and child), and a group of Rondalla and choir.

Their repertoire is based mainly on songs and dances of the folklore of Fortuna and its municipality and the Region of Murcia.

Paying particular attention to their interpretations of the Mass Huertana.

Among its many activities highlighted: Children's Folklore Show in June, International Folklore Festival "Villa Fortuna", in August, on the occasion of the festivities in honor of San Roque, the Christmas meeting with carols and carols.

At the same time he participates in festivals and traditions as the living Bethlehem, San Isidro parade, carnival, etc., and recovery work utensils, furniture, costumes and fortuneros trousseau.

His performances have been very diverse in every corner of the Region of Murcia, Valencia, Toledo, Ciudad Real, Jaen, La Coruna, Teruel, Badajoz, Barcelona, ​​Cantabria, Mallorca, Oviedo, Velez-Malaga, etc.
