The regional coordinator UPyD, Rafael Sanchez, expressed his opposition to the mayor of Fortuna demisting functions continue today after learning that the prosecutor has asked the Supreme Court to not support the appeal of the mayor, who was sentenced by the Supreme Court to 12 year disqualification for vote buying.
Sanchez recalled that UPyD already showed in the last election campaign in May that there was opposition to defendants in the electoral lists, as it was the PP candidate for mayor of Fortuna, Matias Carrillo.
"Now," continued Sanchez, "in addition to a conviction, it seems to appeal to the Supreme Court will not prosper."
For Sanchez, "the dimension of electoral crime committed, the purchase of votes, the mayor of Fortuna disqualified to remain the highest representative of the neighbors.
The respect for the presumption of innocence can not be an argument when there's a sentence. "
Therefore, Rafael Sanchez believes that "the prejudice to the municipal institution and the residents of Fortuna make the PP should take action on the matter, assume the political responsibility of the office and beyond."
