The City of Fortuna has confirmed that the National Organization of the Spanish Blind (ONCE) has included this municipality in the collection 'My Town', with which they are promoting about a hundred towns with unique names through coupons with those who carry out their traditional raffles.
A coupon that will have the Church of La Purisima as the protagonist and that will be raffled off on a big day for Fortuna as it is on August 16, the patron's day and in full celebration of the precious and unique Romanos and Sodales parties.
The inclusion of Fortuna in a coupon of the ONCE is going to suppose an element of tourist promotion at national level with a very important impact before the thousands of daily sales that are realized by means of this raffle.
In addition, it is going to suppose a remarkable recognition to the Church of the Purisima in the 375 anniversary of its construction.
La Purísima is located in the central Plaza de Juan XXIII, giving rise to the Purísima street where this City Council has its headquarters, and it is a building that is framed within the Murcian baroque that turns out to be an emblem in the image of the locality.
Inside this church is the image of the patron saint of Fortuna, the Purísima Concepción, work of the sculptor Alonso Cano in the year 1690.
The mayor, José Enrique Gil, wanted to show his gratitude to the ONCE and especially to his territorial delegate in Murcia Juan Carlos Morejón to include Fortuna as one of the municipalities that will put image to this collection of coupons, hopes that it will serve as a remarkable promotion for the locality and encourages the entire population to acquire this coupon in a commemorative way.
Finally, Gil has taken the opportunity to "congratulate and value the 80 years in which this organization is doing a brilliant social work both for people with disabilities to which they give the opportunity to work and for the important resources they provide to develop numerous social services. "
