The recovery of the management of public services, citizen participation, taxation have been part of the issues addressed in this first meeting.
This Saturday, in Fortuna, the municipal meetings of the PCRM have been held in collaboration with IU-Verdes, with the presence of the current and future public positions of both formations in the Region.
This is the first meeting that will address the major programmatic axes the upcoming municipal elections of 2019, next weekend will continue this work.
Josetxu Durán, councilor of IU Alcantarilla and Secretary General of the PCRM, stressed that "the objective of this day is to prepare our current and future positions for the upcoming elections."
Durán also affirmed that important battles are taking place at the municipal level to defend the rights of the citizens, for this "we will fight to repeal the Law of Rationalization and Sustainability of the Local Administration that constrains the autonomy of the institutions closest to citizenship, as well as the defense of the public management of services ".
José Luis Álvarez Castellanos, Coordinator and candidate of IU-Greens, who has highlighted the importance of building popular unity candidacies as the best tool to fight for the rights of citizens, from the institutions;
Victoria Rodríguez, Secretary of Organization of IUVRM and IU Cartagena candidate, for her part, stressed that current protection systems are not responding to the number of problems that people are suffering so it is necessary to develop comprehensive care plans.
Alfonso Cayuela, responsible for the ideological area of ​​the PCRM, and Nerea Martínez, councilor of citizen participation in the City Council of Cieza, who highlighted the role of the municipalities to promote participatory processes.
Finally, Durán concluded by recalling the important role of communists in the municipalities of change defending the interests of the popular classes against neoliberal policies.
