The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Constantine Sotoca today opened the school premises Fortuna No. 3, with capacity to serve 450 students and involves an investment of 3.1 billion euros.
The Education Minister stated that "the implementation of the new center is the answer to a need for education in the town" and was convinced that "will help improve students' academic performance and further progress towards educational excellence."
The school has 18 units, 6 to kindergarten and 12 for primary and is divided into three modules.
The first module is aimed at school children, and is independent of the rest of downtown, a second module that will occupy the Primary school, and a third that houses the gym, multipurpose room and dining room, plus other auxiliary units.
Sotoca recalled that the new facility is the result of collaboration between the regional administration and the City, which has led in recent years improvement works at the school Vicente Aleixandre, and extend the school St. Anton (with 4 classrooms and a multipurpose room ) and the IES Santa María de los Baños (with 2 workshop rooms), all with an investment of 600,000 euros.
The counselor concluded that "this new facility reflects the commitment of the regional administration for educational quality and continuous improvement of education, which the regional government is not willing to resign, despite economic difficulties."
