The Governing Board of the City of Fortuna has approved in its meeting held on October 3, the call for a public tender to award the works of defense against wildfires in the Sierra de la Pila, with a budget of over 207,000 euros.
These works are aimed at preserving and enhancing the greatest treasure of our town, declared a Regional Park, through the maintenance and improvement of forest through different silvicultural activities (pruning, clearing, thinning, etc. ..,) aimed at achieving an environmentally more stable mount and diverse environmental landscape improvement favoring obtaining large trees.
Another aspect to take into account the draft works, is the maintenance of forest roads.
In this sense it has been observed the need for gutter cleaning work, clearing of vegetation, cleaning of culverts, etc..
on the main access roads to the mountains of Public Utility Fortune Township.
The maintenance of forest roads is considered necessary to allow the passage of vehicles to mount for both firefighting duties to tasks related to forest management of Mt.

Then, once the notice shortly published in the Official Gazette of the Region of Murcia, will open a period of 26 calendar days for the submission of tenders, the contract being awarded to the lowest price.
From the City Government team, we want to convey a firm commitment to the preservation and improvement of natural spaces in our town, towards which it will undoubtedly contribute these works, framed in Forestry Fund Public Improvements.
