The Cabinet has given the green light to the Ministry of Health and Social Policy for the Murcia Health Service (SMS) to serve construction hiring new Health Center Fortuna, amounting to 3,541,186 euros with an execution period of 18 months.
The new health center, whose project has been drawn up by the SMS itself, will be built on a plot of 2,828 square meters, donated by the city of Fortuna and have two floors and basement and parking for the public.
The new center is dimensioned to serve a population of up to 13,000 inhabitants, which will have the capacity to absorb the natural growth of the population in the coming years.
The project envisages the implementation of new health services for users of this area of ​​health, such as dentistry, physiotherapy and geriatric care, to avoid commuting to other towns.
The new health center will expand and improve the area devoted to public attention a treatment room with more space, a new observation room of extractions and techniques, and an area for special procedures, which shall be conditioned for simple practice of minor surgical procedures.
Also, a new query of Pediatrics is added, which happen to have two queries, and Pediatric Nursing, as well as a breastfeeding room.
The GP surgeries will seven and six nursing, compared to four-two currently.
Add to that a multipurpose query, which can be adapted to the needs that may arise in the future will add.
Moreover, the unit of care for women will increase its size to provide it with an extensive exploration area, and will enable a multipurpose room that can be used for maternal education and birth preparation.
The building will have 3,268 square meters, of which 1,910 correspond to the ground and first floors.
Downstairs the administrative unit, the emergency unit and adults, the social worker consultation, physiotherapy unit, and units of Pediatrics, Women and Dentistry will be distributed.
On the first floor 14 consultations, seven of which will be the General Medicine, six of Nursing and a multipurpose install.
The basement floor, which will occupy 1,358 square meters, is reserved for building facilities, warehouses and parking.
