The multipurpose center for mentally disabled people in Fortuna, whose budget amounts to 4,020,160 euros, is financed by special fund of the Plan
Murcia will have 560 seats in different centers and new services for the Unit under this special fund
The Minister for Health and Social Policy, Trinidad Jimenez, met today with President of the Autonomous Community of Murcia, Ramón Luis Valcárcel, and visited the Multipurpose Center works with mentally handicapped people in Fortuna (Murcia).
The work of the Centre are funded by the Stimulus Plan for Economy and Employment (Plan E).
The Government signed on 11 March this year a cooperation agreement with the Autonomous Community of Murcia, which was for 11,630,800 euros.
To cope with the economic crisis, the Government adopted the State Special Fund for the revitalization of the economy and jobs.
Within this fund was allocated 400 million euros to the care system.
This measure is expected to generate positive effects on the economy and employment, it is estimated that by the application are created about 35,000 jobs, 23,163 of which some 13,000 direct and indirect.
Through this special fund, Murcia fund this year investments in new facilities, services and places for the care of dependent people and modernizing and adapting existing facilities and services.
Murcia will have 560 new places in different centers and services for the Unit Lorca Puerto Lumbreras, Albudeite, Cehaguin, Villanueva del Segura, Molina de Segura and Fortuna.
MULTIPURPOSE CENTER OF FORTUNE mentally handicapped
The Minister has visited the site of the center of new construction and whose investment amounts to 4,020,160 euros.
Of these, 3,700,000 are provided by the Central Government; 240,000 euros by the Ministry of Social Policy, Women and Immigration through the IMAS (Instituto Murciano Social Action) and 80,160 euros for the City of Fortuna.
Fortuna Center is designed as a multipurpose center and is composed of: a day care center (Occupational Center for the mentally handicapped, with 60 seats), a residential center for mentally handicapped, with 28 seats, and a Day Centre and Customer Integral to the elderly, with 140 seats.
PERSONAL AUTONOMY LAW AND CARE FOR PEOPLE LIVING IN UNIT
In this region there are currently 24,150 people who have been recognized as eligible for benefits under Dependency.
E under the Plan, are also conducting concerts of new services for dependents, as well as programs to improve the infrastructure of home help services and transportation services.
EUR 11.6 million agreed under the Plan E is added to the funding they receive Murcia citizens by the Government of Spain for the development of Law Unit.
